1. Crafting the Visual Identity

Creating Professional Logo & Branding

For a company specializing in high-stakes areas like independent internal affairs investigations, culture change, and leadership development, the visual identity had to project three core feelings: Professional, Experienced, and Trusted.

I began with a custom logo design that strikes the perfect balance between authority and modern professionalism. The branding utilizes a commanding, high-trust color palette and clean typography, establishing Vanguard as an elite, dependable partner the moment a potential client sees the logo. This visual foundation was carried through all brand assets to ensure absolute consistency across every digital touchpoint. By request, I created 2 versions of the logo that can be used based on application – one that has a larger vertical footprint and one that has a longer horizontal footprint. This is helpful for the functionality of the brand in use. 

2. Optimized Web Design 

Proven Copy Writing & Layout

A beautiful website is useless if the messaging isn’t clear or laid out well. To ensure Vanguard’s website captures and converts ideal clients, I utilized the StoryBrand framework by Don Miller which utilizes brain research to lay out copy and pages so customers engage in the way you want them to.

Instead of making the website all about what Vanguard does, I structured the entire one-page layout around the problems Vanguard solves for agency leaders.

A few key elements of the optimized website layout include:

• A Clear Hero Header: Letting visitors know exactly what Vanguard offers within the first three seconds.

• The Stakes: Highlighting the costs of inaction—such as avoidable liability, organizational culture decay, and investigative credibility issues.

• The Guide & Authority: Positioning Richard’s extensive credentials—like his 25 years of law enforcement experience—as the ultimate reassurance for clients facing a crisis.

• A 3-Step Plan: Eliminating the friction of doing business by laying out an ultra-simple path to connect and get started.

SEO Optimized

From a technical standpoint, the entire site was fully optimized for local and national SEO, integrating high-intent search terms like independent internal affairs investigations, police leadership mentor, and law enforcement training to ensure Vanguard ranks right where its target audience is looking.

3. Extending the Brand

LinkedIn for High-Impact Networking

For B2B consulting businesses, a website is only half the battle. Your target audience is actively looking for solutions on professional networks. To maximize Richard’s reach, I built, branded, and optimized the Vanguard Leadership Consulting LinkedIn Company Page.

We didn’t just paste in a bio. We treated the LinkedIn page as an extension of the website’s strategic funnel:

• Branded Graphics: Created a custom LinkedIn banner and formatted the profile imagery to seamlessly match the newly minted website.

• SEO-Optimized Overview: Crafted a compelling, under-2,000-character description that hits hard on pain points and solutions while baking in critical search algorithm keywords.

• Algorithmic Tagging: Curated the top 20 high-intent specialties to ensure the page ranks perfectly within LinkedIn’s internal search engine when decision-makers look for executive coaching or independent oversight.
