Full website build from scratch that strengthened their brand, optimized for user experience and clarified their message.
Advoz is a nonprofit in Lancaster, PA making a big difference. They offer Restorative Practices, Mediation, Peacemaking Workshops and offer education and training to help transform conflict into conversation. Their website was an exercise in clarifying a large number of offerings and services and optimizing everything for the end user.
The Advoz Web Design Project
When Advoz came to me their website was fairly created DIY but they had hit their limit. Hosted on an old WordPress theme which only allowed so much customization and edits, they felt stuck in the past and unable to uptimized their website for users – especially for mobile devices which most of their target audience wuld access their website using.
The Advoz Website Redesign Process
I started Advoz with a StoryBrand guide questionnaire which is my intake form and process for getting the right language from a client that I can eventually use to create website copy that is proven to engage website visitors towards their desired action. They did a fantastic job of filling out the form for each of their various services and sections of offerings. By doing this I had all I need to get going along with their already clearly defined brand style guide of colors and fonts.

What is beneficial about inviting me to build a site is that an organization not only gets expert professional design and the latest in website trends, they get optimized text copy and layout that is proven to engage users. I am very well versed in Storybrand and build all of my websites using their proven guidelines that help users engage with a website in the desired way of the owner – in this case there were many desired end goals – reach out for various services, volunteer, donate and more. I used their answers from the intake form and created every single page to be clear, as concise as possible and to lean towards users actually engaging with Advoz for what they saught when they came to their website.
Built to Function
Advoz is an active nonprofit, offering new education and training, publicizing fundraising events, and more. One key to their website being perfect for them is that they can edit, grow and change it as they continue to grow and change. Everything is set up to update with WordPress as WordPress updates and is able to be edited and changed however they like. Nothing is set in stone or stuck with old code that can break when WordPress goes through updates. That is very important for a website offering longevity in the ever-changing online space!

Before launch, I comb through each and every page and element to make them all mobile-friendly – customizing everything until it looks exceptional on mobile devices. Most Advoz visitors navigate to their website on their phone – so having a mobile-friendly website is key so every visitor can engage, connect with their services and donate easily.
