November 2010 – a great month.
I had yet to comment on how my exhibit went this month, and with all the build up in previous posts, I owe a lengthy description. But, don’t worry I’ll keep it short and fill you in on all the important things.
Like I had shared earlier that November 5, 2010 was a day I had anticipated since May 2009 – over 1.5 years. Over those months I had worried about not having new art work to fill my 7′ wall, something in my paperwork would be insufficient at the last-minute, or although my work made it successfully to the wall, there would be few visitors and no sales. Well, as those worries decided to descend upon me, an abundant number of prayers were prayed. The night came, I was all ready. I not only was given enough time and motivation to paint works that filled the wall, I had extra! And not only was that prayer taken care of, the owner of the gallery was impressed with my paperwork! And not only that, but as my art work was being dropped off to be hung, 2 pieces sold! “the fastest I’ve sold a piece of work” the own told me. Nothing could have been better about that night. I felt like I had 100 people I knew visit, 4 pieces were sold by the end of the night, every member of my family came, and I had a blast! Nothing went wrong and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the opening. I slept soundly Nov. 5, 2010, full of excitement from the successful evening, but sedated by the 5 hours of schmoozing the thousands of delightful First Friday visitors.
The whole month was a success. Many more people than I could’ve imagined saw and enjoyed my art work. I sold quite a few, and all the logistics ran smoothly. It still feels like such an honor to have displayed at Red Raven and I am grateful for the chance. Thanks to everyone who made it a success!
