Website Redesign & E-Commerce Build

The LEEC is a staple in Lancaster, PA. They’ve been in existence since 1915, providing quality education & care to families with working parents and helping people who can’t afford it otherwise be able to have the exceptional care they provide. With a history like that being a landmark in the area, they came to me desiring for their website to be a representation of the quality and personality of their brand. 

The LEEC had a website when they came to me which was  built on WordPress and they made it clear they wanted to stay on that platform (which is what I recommend to all of my clients so I knew we were off to a great start!) Their current website had a lot of content, but it needed to be organized and re-messaged to lead to better conversions. I took all that they had as well as my knowledge of their brand and history from my previous graphic design work with them and rebuilt from scratch – thinking throughout to write their story to help their primary segments of visitors – clients, new families, & donors.

The Process to Launch

A delight as always, their communication and organization to review each piece was strong. They have a solid hosting company that served to easily navigate the duplicate to a construction “beta” site where we did all of the work behind the scenes. Through back and forth and buttoning up what was yet needed, we forged ahead with a go-live date in mind and held tight to it.

While working within, we talked through how they currently accepted donations and what would be their ideal for doing so in the future. Through that I learned of their also having LEEC branded products they’d like to sell on their website along with the ability for donations to be taken. To make that possible and safe, I built them a woocommerce shopping platform connected to PayPal along with a variable product plug-in which covered all of their needs & desires for their site – the platform allowed store to be built, the variable product allows donations of any size, and the PayPal choice allows credit & debit cards to be accepted easily and safely. 

After all pages and elements were reviewed, edited for accuracy, checked for links, tested for e-commerce shipping and payments working, redesigned for mobile & tablet on each page and module, we had the host schedule the go-live with excitement. 

Seemless Website Launch

Day of launch came and all worked like a charm. I worked my way through to make sure every link was directed to the new place on their internet home it should be and they were good to go!

From here on, they now have a website that elevates their brand to strongly represent their legacy and presence in Lancaster, PA. They have me for an extra month as I serve all my website design clients for a month post-launch for edits and changes so they can feel confident in the functionality and success of their website. And they now have a sustainable theme that can handle anything they want to create and or build in the future.
